Barring any last minute hitches, 98 candidates will contest various national positions in the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
This was after six aspirants withdrew from the race ahead of the party’s December 20th delegates congress in the Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi.
The congress is to elect new national executives to steer affairs of the party ahead of the 2016 general elections. General Secretary of the party, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, announced this to the media after the Vetting Committee concluded its work.
“In the national organizer position, Hon. Didieye MP for Afram Plains North withdrew. In the area of Vice Chair we have Rev Prof Lawson and Alhaji Mohammed Abass, the report indicates that they’ve withdrew”.
General Mosquito as he is popular called added that Okpolu Ahamadji vying National Youth Organizer position and Fuseini Seidu Iddrisu also for Deputy Youth Organizer pulled out.
For the Deputy Women Organizer position, Mr. Nketia said Ms. Agnes Adomah also pull out of the race.
Meanwhile, the 98 aspirants will battle it out for the 23 national executive positions which include the position of Chairman, General Secretary, National Organizer, National Youth and Women’s Organizer, National Propaganda Secretary among others.
