Music Producer and Musician Appiah Dankwah popularly known as Appietus, has finally taken a bold step to show how serious he is to take over the seat of MUSIGA president.
After nomination was opened few days ago, the award winning Producer picked his nomination for yesterday Wednesday August 5, 2015 at the MUSIGA head office in Accra.
Speaking to Peacefmonline.com Appiah said it took time before he finally decided to do this but now that he has taken the decision he is going all out and nothing can stop him.
“Since the news came out that I wanted to contest, certain people especially Obour have being doing everything to discourage me but nothing can stop me now. I have just picked my presidential nomination form. I remember since I declared my intention to contest the fee for the nomination was increased to GH¢3000 but by the grace of God I have been able to pick my form and paid for it with all other cost involved”.
Appiah said he is very confident and he will give Obour a very stip competition.
“Am going against Obour because I feel if he continues with his reluctant attitude and make it seem that everything is alright and yet the industry is suffering, I can’t just sit quietly and watch. So I will go against him and hopefully by the grace of God I shall win”
According to Appiah who is still waiting to appear before the vetting committee, he will launch his campaign and manifesto very soon and then hit the road.
The Creative Records CEO said his focus and interest are young and upcoming musicians because they are the future of this industry.
Other names that have come up to contest against sitting president Obour include Highlife Singer Daasebre Dwamena, Radio Presenter Odeifour and Gyedu Blay Ambulley.
After the filing of nominations vetting will take place on September 10 and the national election is scheduled to take place during union’s national congress in Koforidua from October 29 – 31.
