Verification is currently used to establish authenticity of identities on Twitter. The verified badge helps users discover high-quality sources of information and trust that a legitimate source is authoring the account’s Tweets. Having a verified account therefore shows how important a user is to the social networking world.
The BET award winner has joined the group of African celebrities who have verified twitter accounts after a number of Nigerian celebrities such as Genevieve Nnaji, D’ Banj, the Chocolate City Music crew, 2 Face and others had theirs verified some time back.
