The Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Kofi Boakye, want sanctions to be unleashed on citizens who deliberately abstain from the National Sanitation exercise.

The National exercise meant to encourage voluntary cleaning of communities by the public has been fraught with apathy.

DCOP Kofi Boakye wants the various assemblies to institute bye-laws to punish people who stay away from the national exercise.

He told Luv News, it is demotivating to find shop owners and traders standing and watching as cleaning goes on in the their own surroundings.

Commander One, as he is affectionately called, wants the exercise scheduled for Saturday, January 3rd, 2015 to be seen as a national event rather than a political deed.
