Algeria coach Christian Gourcuff has tipped Ghana as favourites in Group C at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
He believes the West Africans are a major threat despite the country’s poor showing at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
“South Africa I do not know very well but they are still a good team and a great value of African football. Ghana certainly did not succeed in the Brazil World Cup, but they are a strong team that is full of good people. Ghana remains one of the favourites of the competition,” the manager told the Algeria FA’s official website.
“Senegal, meanwhile, have regained a competitive team since last year, and they have returned to the front of the continental stage. For me, no team is favourite in this group because all the games are difficult.”
The former Lorient boss has transformed the Fennecs to become Africa’s strongest football nation currently playing some delightful football.
