The Eye of the Lord Orphanage located at Otoase Nsawam in the district of Accra was blessed with several items when the London based NGO by the name Golden Club of London Orphanage Support visited them on Thursday, 15th of June 2016 with several donated items.
According to the executives of Golden club of London orphanage support representative, Mrs Stella Nutakor informed their main aim is to support and help orphans and orphanage across Ghana, but their attention was drown to Eyes of the lord Orphanage when they saw a video clip of the orphans eating and bathing in the same bowl.
This disturbing images she said got to the attention of other members of the NGO which necessitated the donations.
They were warmly received by Mr Samuel Kwapone Darko, the proprietor of the orphanage, who told them about several of the plight and disclosed that they were very happy to receive the donation knowing it will go a long way to help the orphans.
Mr Samuel Kwapone Darko mentioned their dream is to have a kitchen and dining area for the children in future. He also disclosed they have total of 98 children in the orphanage.
He reported being blind since 1999 and although he is unable to see the children, he feels them and has passion for them. The donations included cups, bowls, tooth brush, rice bags, oil, bowls, bucket, beakers, toiletries and other items.
Speaking, Mrs Stella Nutakor also informed her organization will aim to do more in the future to help the orphanage in the near future and also encourage the kids to learn more to become great member of the society in the future.
