Kaakie, the biggest female face of Dancehall in Ghana and Africa has just finished worked on a new single called “Zuuchia” – due for release on Wednesday, August 15.
“Zuuchia” – a Hausa word meaning “My Heart” – is a term Kaakie has employed in her upcoming joint which relates to her ‘fans within the Hausa community’. Produced by JMJ Baby, this new song is carefully chromed on another dancehall beat.
In an interview with Kaakie, she explained that “this new song basically is to reach out to many of my fans who are from the Hausa community. I find most of them dancing to my songs and loving my style of flow so I decided to bring in something that would make them feel a part of my voice that relates to them. Even though I am a Christian by faith, I find it worth celebrating along with them in this season of their Ramadan hence the release of ‘Zuuchia’. It’s commendatory doing something that cuts across other cultures or religions so as to promote unity and amity among us all, even on the dance floor. Not to mean I have cut off others; I have some part of the song sang in Twi, Ga, constructive English and a dash of Patois as well – so it can play everywhere across the world . It is a clean version song so it can play on radio, in the clubs, at the outdoor parties, on your iPods, cell phones and other player-friendly devices.”
There is no doubt, Dancehall Sensation; Kaakie has had a good year so far, despite not having released her debut album yet.
So far, all her five singles have gone wild on the music charts of almost every Ghanaian DJ in the clubs and on radio. Within just a period of 12 months, Kaakie has had the opportunity to perform on stages with international music heavyweights like Mavado, Busy Signal, Kiprich, Demarco, Keri Hilson, Bow Wow, Bow Wow, Samini, Tiwaa Savage, Davido, Brymo and some of the most biggest names in African music.
Kaakie had 3 spots in the latest mixtape – “Ghana Meets Naija 2012 Mix” – released by Nigeria’s biggest DJ, DJ Neptune (who has played on stages for Akon, T-Pain among others). She had the highest number of song feature on the mixtape than any other artiste included in the mixtape by DJ Neptune. Kaakie was signed on to XTRA LARGE MUSIC – a Ghanaian-based record label – in July 2011 and has since been a very promising face on the music scene within a period of just 1 year. She is managed by media and entertainment industry veteran, Sadiq Abdulai Abu.
