In no Particular order we take a look at those prominent singers who lost out in 2014 music year.
Aside the friendly relationship i have with most of these artistes, i am not speaking as a friend this time but rather speaking as a fan so dont take me too personal. I am sure the street will agree with some of these arguments though.

Here are the top 10 losers of 2014:

1. Shatta Wale

Shatta Wale has struggled to achieve musical success since the release of Dancehall commando. Business wise, Shatta Wale did well for himself though, with his recent deal being the one he signed with Guinness, however he failed on musical grounds having released a lot of songs in 2014, Shatta Wale doesn’t have any 2014 hit.

2. Bisa Kdei

Bisa Kdei seem to be the architect of his own misfortune. Since releasing his Odo Carpenter, the best high-life crooner has been a very lazy artiste, choosing not to put out records every now and then. When he does, he seem to put out similar records… Same beat, same vocals, same flow, etc. If he does this, he will survive to release a hit record in the music year so guess what, he was only able to release one single all year, titled Saa. The video for the record came out only few days ago. If the likes of Guru, Stonebwoy, Jupitar, etc can be releasing songs almost every month, Bisa Kdei has no excuse for his laziness. He had a fantastic 2013 though. We hope to see more from him in 2015.

3. Criss Waddle

One of the biggest losers this year is Criss Waddle. His work ethic also can be questioned. He was able to put out smash singles out in the previous year including Ayi but in 2014, he somehow, failed to match his previous height. The Too Much rapper still hasn’t released any better project this year. That is not going to help his music fans. His survival hitmaker on the AYI song. Bisa Kdei made the list too.

4. Stay Jay

Despite all the street anthems he has, Stay Jay’s music sensation doesn’t look like he will ever sign a music artiste that can make it in Ghana’s music scene. He has released a lot of songs in 2014, with all of them featuring influential artistes/actors. However, none of the songs released a radio/club friendly single in 2014. He released a lot of songs Still his music year was nothing to write home about.

Popularly known as Mr rapist of all time, Asem failed in 2014. No show, no endorsement, no hit single, nothing! He even released a song tagged Above Ground Level by comparing two of most talked about Dancehall artistes, Shatta Wale and Samini… ASEM still didn’t achieve musical success in 2014 no wonder he spitted venom on Peacefmonline when they reported him to be ill. The rapper himself admitted music has given him fame than money in one of his songs.

6. Abrewa Nana

According to Abrewa Nana, she kick-started Ghana’s dancehall music revolution, but she has never been part of the dancehall revolution. She also rolled out singles in 2014 and also a collaboration with another female artiste who is also surviving for hits… Abrewa Nana isn’t getting gigs and awards however. She is making money from other business she owns though.

7. Kofi Mante

Kofi Mante swore he is going to make a comeback in 2014. He released two singles from his upcoming album and till date none of the records on the album has gone viral. He recently released a video for one of the songs, Make You Happy which features Mohamed. Business wise, Kofi Mante did cash out though, he was able to sign a deal with S clothing in Canada according to reports.

8. Kesse

Kesse: Another year another disappointment from Kesse. Widely believed to be more talented than singers in Ghana but Kesse still hasn’t made a name for himself in Ghana’s music scene since Fiesta era.

9. Mzbel

It appears Mzbel has given up on her quest to be a music star. The 16 years hitmaker has struggled enough in 2014… She released a single not long ago but to fans like us, the Mzbel we used to know who has her momentum and passion seem to have vanished. Mzbel has not make huge success this year. We are just hoping to get more from her next year.

10. Yaa Pono

Yaa Pono couldn’t get his music career going in 2014. Despite making other artistes who featured him on their song by making it a hit, the former tare tare hitmaker had a negligible music year.

We believe 2015 will be his come-back.
