Nayele Ametefe’s mother was arrested Tuesday by the Airport Police for assaulting an official of NACOB, who was serving a seizure notice at her East-Legon residence.
She has, however, been given a police enquiry bail, the Airport District Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Yao Tettegah, has confirmed.
Starrfmonline.com understands that the mother of the 32-year-old lady, who is serving eight years and eight months jail term for carrying 12kg of cocaine to the UK, was detained briefly after honouring an invitation, but was later released on bail.
Officials of NACOB were on Monday evening engaged in a scuffle with the family of Ametefe. The mother of Ruby Appiah as Nayele is also known, is heard on a tape recording preventing the NACOB officials from posting the notice on the property.
She is also alleged to have assaulted an official of the state security agency. The official then lodged a complaint at the police station.
