Ghana’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Said Sinare has said the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) will have a tough time retaining power in the 2016 national elections if delegates of the party do not vote for the “right” people as national executives.

The Party is holding its national delegates congress in the Ashanti regional capital, Kuamsi on December 20, 2014. Sinare, who is also a Vice Chairman of the party told Starr FM’s Esi Benewah Nyame in an interview that the party needs leaders who have the capacity to retain the NDC in power, since in his estimation, the 2016 national elections will be tough.

“It’s always better to vote for the right people in the right position. The biggest mistake that they will do to tis great party of ours is to vote for the wrong people.

“It’s not all about money or whatever gifts that come onboard or whatever, but they should make sure the right people are there to serve this great part of ours,” Sinare urged.

He said the party’s quest to retain power in the 2016 elections will lose steam, if the “wrong” people are voted into office in next week’s polls.

“We have a big task ahead of us; 2016 is around the corner and it’s not just going to be a walkover for us. We must really work so hard to attain that victory…it’s very important that we get the best members to be our national executives.

“If they vote the wrong people to occupy these positions, then I’m very sorry that we are going to have a very bad time,” Sinare warned.
