National Women’s Organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) says the party would have been in political oblivion if they had heeded to certain advice by former President Jerry Rawlings.
According to Anita Desooso, most of his [Rawlings] preferred candidates who are part of the national executives ended up leaking sensitive party information to opposition political parties.
Therefore as the NDC prepares for its delegates conference to elect new executives, Ms. Desooso called for positive defiance against Mr. Rawlings’ choice.
The former President, among other things, believes the NDC needs honest people to be able to retain power in 2016.
Among those who deem fit for the job is his spokesperson and an aspiring National Organizer, Kofi Adams.
But Anita Desooso on Accra based radio station; Splash FM, disagreed vehemently with the party founder.
She explained that the call for the defiance of Rawlings’ preference is not borne out of malice but rather to “demonstrate what he as founder of NDC had taught us to always be bold and stand for what is right”.
“I respect my founder but this time round we are sorry; we can’t support him on this move,” National Women’s Organizer stressed.
Anita Desooso vowed to ensure that a traitor is not elected National Organizer of the NDC.
