Former captain of the Ghana national football team, John Mensah has remarried after his public divorce with his first wife. He chose Saturday, the day his former teammates got beaten by Uganda – to tie the knot with new wife, Mimi. This is the former defender’s second marriage in years after the first one of 12 years with ex Henrietta hit the rocks in January. The traditional marriage ceremony took place at a modest location, in what friends say, was simple yet elaborate. Here are some photos from the ceremony courtesy enewsgh.
The couple may have their white wedding in the next few days, sources tellenewsgh.com. The wedding we are told may happen on his birthday, which falls on November 29.
Prior to going to court with his ex, where he was made to pay some GHC 150, 000 as a severance package, he was accused by the latter of shirking his responsibility as a father. She also raised issues of infidelity.
Mensah rebutted, insisting “I do what every responsible father has to do for his children and I have no reason not to cater for their needs…I do well to send them money as I know they will need it. And I have always been taking responsibility of everything else including their school fees.”
Mensah, 31, who played at the 2006, and 2010 FIFA world cups, currently plays for FC Nitra in the Slovakia Super Liga.
